Weekly Open Jam • Funkadelic Studios
Funkadelic hosts an open jam every Saturday from 8pm to midnight where musicians can network and collaborate with other like-minded artists, from beginners to professionals in all genres. It's a great way to find potential band members, or to test out and get feedback on new songs that you’re working on!
Level Up Showcase • Funkadelic Studios
Level Up is a monthly showcase on every second Saturday that puts veteran artists on stage with youth artists to help "level up" their skills.
Soul Sessions Open Mic Jam • Funkadelic Studios
Soul Sessions is a monthly open mic jam session that takes place on the last Friday of every month from 7-11pm at Funkadelic Studios. Hosted by poet/emcee J La Sol, he is accompanied by his incredible house band, the Travelers, and together they have created a space where artists and musicians of all kinds can come and freely express themselves. The show consists of 10 open mic-ers, 3 featured acts, and is closed out with a jam session where all artists and musicians can participate. We encourage all performers to work with the house band to bring out their best live experience possible!
Symphonics Live • Bowery Poetry Club
Symphonics Live is a multidisciplinary evening produced and hosted by Shawn Randall. It showcases the finest poets and singer/songwriters in NY along with elements of dance and improvisation, promoting Generosity, Love, and Creativity through the continual exploration of humanity through performing and visual arts. Symphonics Live has performed for crowds of people at the the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club, Highline Ballroom, Joe's Pub, Zipper Factory Theater, and the Bowery Poetry Club.
The Poet WILL Be Televised! • Silvana
TPWBT is a poetry jam session held on the second Wednesday of every month at 8pm at Silvana in Harlem. Hosted by hip-hop artist Baxter Words, it brings together poets, spoken word, hip hop artists, and neo-soul singers with a live band to improvise their written word in a new, fresh way. Tracks are not permitted at this event but the live band is happy to assist in any musical stylings you may desire. Produced by the REC Life NYC.

The Leave A Lasting Mark concert series aims to pair great causes with amazing local musicians, performing classic albums and honoring influential artists and genres to both raise money for charity and build a deeper sense of community here in NYC.
Freestyle Mondays • PIANOS
Hosted by iLLspokinn, Freestyle Mondays is a 4 DJ Turtablist battle and 8 Emcee Gameshow Battle followed by a live band jam session/open mic. Every last Monday at PIANOS.
Song Craft: A Songwriter Workshop • Funkadelic Studios
Song Craft is a free songwriter workshop, meant for songwriters; all genres welcome. In this workshop we will have presentations and discussions about what makes a good song a GOOD song, as well as allow those who sign up to come in, perform, and get honest critique from their peers and friends, and workshop the song together. One rule: leave your ego at the door.
Let Music Be Your Brunch • Funkadelic Studios
This free event is for artists and listeners to probe the inner workings of our various art forms. Solos, duos, ensemble playing and listening with discussion – always a fun time. Top featured artists are William Hooker, Ras Moshe, Dave Sewelson, and John Baylies. New musicians are welcomed monthly!
Inspired Word Open Mic • Funkadelic Studios
25 slots, strict 7 minutes a piece for anything spoken, 8 minutes for singers and musicians (if you have backing tracks please bring them on an MP3 player or smartphone). A warm, supportive community of artists. Real crowds and a great place to network. This is a VERY popular open mic, so we strongly suggest you purchase a ticket in advance to guarantee a performance slot. Make sure to purchase ticket with your desired time slot window.
